About the job
Job Description:
Your Impact
Join the Raven Integrated Project Team during a critical integration stage, helping to bring complex system elements together and demonstrate that the system performs as intended.
You will own a defined system integration and test work package, producing clear, reviewable evidence that allows the project team to progress with controlled assumptions, informed decisions and an accurate understanding of integration status.
The role can be appointed at Senior Systems Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer level, depending on the depth of experience demonstrated. At Principal level, you will also provide local technical guidance and peer review for less experienced engineers.
What you’ll do
Confirm and document the inputs, assumptions, and interfaces for the Raven integration and test activities. Plan and perform the progressive integration and testing of system elements in line with the system architecture, interface definitions, requirements, and verification strategy. Develop and maintain integration and test procedures that are clear, traceable, and suitable for peer review. Execute integration and test activities across the system and subsystems. Capture objective evidence, interpret results and maintain traceability between test activity, system requirements, and verification needs. Identify, investigate, and communicate anomalies, and recommend resolutions. Support formal test and qualification activities, ensure evidence is documented and suitable for later acceptance activity. Support Raven trials and validation, including test data capture, analysis, and reporting. Work closely with systems, software, hardware, safety, test, trials, and project colleagues to coordinate dependencies and resolve cross-functional issues. Provide regular, accurate reporting on integration progress, risks, assumptions, decisions, evidence maturity, and outstanding actions. Participate in peer reviews and implement review actions before engineering outputs are formally used. What you’ll bring
We are looking for practical systems engineers who can combine test execution with sound engineering judgement and collaborative working.
Essential experience and capability
Experience of system integration and test within a complex, multi-disciplinary engineering environment. Practical knowledge of system architectures and interfaces, and the ability to relate integration activity to requirements and verification objectives. Experience preparing and using engineering outputs such as integration procedures, test procedures, test records, anomaly reports or integration status reports. Ability to define test inputs, assumptions, boundaries, stakeholders, configurations, expected results, and acceptance criteria. Experience investigating integration or test problems using structured evidence, including interface, configuration, and coverage issues. Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to present technical information, risks and recommendations to engineering and project stakeholders. Ability to work across engineering disciplines and manage your own work package with limited supervision. A degree or equivalent experience in engineering, physics, mathematics, or another relevant STEM discipline. Useful additional experience
Formal system test, verification, acceptance or certification evidence. Planning or supporting system trials and validation. Requirements management, interface management, configuration management, or integration and test planning. Radar or other defence and aerospace domain experience. Use of test equipment, instrumentation, automated test tools, requirements databases or defect and anomaly management tools. Peer reviewing engineering outputs and supporting the development of less experienced engineers. Security Clearance
