About the Role

The Traveling Quality Control Specialist ensures welding, fabrication, and mechanical work meets project specifications, applicable codes, and company quality standards. This role supports large-scale industrial projects across multiple states and works closely with field teams, Project Managers, customers, and inspectors to maintain quality from installation through turnover.

Travel opportunities across multiple states Per diem for eligible traveling employees Competitive compensation and benefits 401(k) with company match Career growth and advancement opportunities Exposure to high-profile, technically advanced projects Team-oriented environment where We Build People What You’ll Do Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welds and fabricated assemblies Verify materials, welding consumables, and compliance with WPS requirements Monitor welding and fabrication activities for compliance with AWS, ASME, and project specifications Coordinate and support NDT activities, including UT, MT, PT, and RT Maintain inspection reports, quality records, NCRs, and turnover documentation Witness welder qualification testing and maintain welder continuity records Review drawings, specifications, WPS, PQRs, and project quality requirements Work with fabrication teams, Project Managers, customers, and inspectors to resolve quality concerns Support quality improvement initiatives and promote a strong safety culture Assist with inspections, turnover, and project closeout What You'll Bring AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required 3–5+ years of welding inspection experience in fabrication, structural steel, piping, or mechanical environments Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, and ASME B31.1/B31.3 Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, WPS, and PQR documentation Familiarity with NDT methods preferred Strong understanding of quality control processes and documentation Proficiency with Microsoft Office Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability and willingness to travel extensively
