About the job
About Arondite Arondite enables organisations to wield autonomy, data and AI at scale. We equip operators with the foundational software to orchestrate their mix of platforms and capabilities, and then take mission-critical decisions faster than their adversaries.
We exist to ensure the UK and its allies out-think, out-pace and out-adapt those who seek to threaten our values and way of life. Our technology is designed for deployment in the world’s most austere environments, and is relied upon by the world’s most demanding operators. We deploy alongside them, bringing our technical expertise wherever it is needed.
You will join Arondite at a pivotal moment in the company’s journey. We are ambitious, building for the long-term and backed by globally renowned investors including Index Ventures (Anthropic, Wiz, Figma, Revolut). Our company is being built by exceptional engineers - people who find high-impact and technically challenging work engaging and exciting, and who consistently deliver outsized impact. You will collaborate with other brilliant minds to solve some of the world’s hardest and most important problems.
You will have ownership and autonomy from Day One. There is no corporate ladder at Arondite. From your first day, you will directly influence the design, functionality, and direction of Arondite’s product offering. We hire the best people and give them extremely high levels of autonomy; the sky is the limit for an individual with the right ambition.
If you are motivated by our mission and if you want to be part of a growing team of outstanding people, then we want to hear from you.
About the role Arondite is looking for mission-driven technologists to lead the planning and execution of implementing our technology with customers. You'll be responsible, end-to-end, for making sure we solve customers' real-world problems, from configuring Cobalt in customer environments and integrating with customer hardware and software, to managing edge deployments and cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with users to ensure our systems are deployed effectively, safely, and with maximum operational impact.
This role requires significant travel, often in challenging environments, whether in the field alongside users or embedded with teams in military HQs. You will need to be adaptable, resilient, and comfortable working under pressure. You will need to understand both technical systems and operational realities, and be able to quickly navigate new technical domains as required. Arondite’s deployment strategists also help to shape our product offering, working closely with core product managers to translate lessons from deployments into product improvements, prioritise customer needs, and ensure Cobalt continues to deliver meaningful operational value.
Your responsibilities will include:
Engaging with users to map workflows, pain points, and operational constraints Identifying and framing customer problems that align with our product vision for Cobalt Configuring Cobalt in customer environments and ensuring deployments are reliable, usable, and operationally relevant Integrating with tactical assets, sensors, data feeds, and customer systems in field and HQ environments Utilising edge deployments and cloud infrastructure to deliver capability where users need it Collaborating with customers to prioritise the highest-value problems to solve Designing and guiding iterative delivery plans that alleviate user pain and demonstrate value quickly Acting as the bridge between users, product, and engineering to ensure solutions remain aligned with operational realities Continuously refining priorities with customers to ensure adoption and measurable impact Championing a user-centric approach across the deployment and wider company Requirements
Arondite aims to bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds and with different perspectives. We therefore don’t expect people to have experience across every area of the requirements. Please apply even if you only partially fulfil the following lists.
You should have:
Technical proficiency: a strong technical foundation and the ability to quickly pick up new domains across systems integration, networking, Linux, cloud infrastructure, edge deployments, or software engineering Confidence navigating technical complexity in customer environments, even where you may not know every tool or system on day one Strong customer-facing communication and stakeholder management skills Independent decision-making under pressure Willingness to travel and work on-site with customers for a significant proportion of your time Ability to hold UK security clearance Ideally, you would also have:
Experience in defence or defence technology Experience with containerisation, cloud platforms such as AWS, or infrastructure-as-code Familiarity with tactical data systems, sensor integration, C2 environments, or other operational systems Comfort working in command-line environments and debugging distributed systems Experience with SQL, databases, data pipelines, or analytics workflows
Deployed work at Arondite All 'deployed' roles at Arondite involve working closely with customers at their UK locations, and when they go abroad. This can mean being away from our office for between 1 and 4 days a week on a regular basis, or going abroad for up to 2 or 3 weeks every few months. As this is a big commitment, we endeavour to maintain flexibility in resourcing to support people's personal circumstances.
Right to Work We require that all candidates have an existing Right to Work in the UK at the time of application.
Security clearance We believe in working closely with defence customers. As a result, this role requires undergoing UK security vetting to Security Check (SC) or above. This normally requires having continuous residency in the UK for at least 5 years.
Office vs Hybrid working We are focused on building a positive, collaborative engineering-driven culture. We therefore believe in making the office a friendly, comfortable and fun place to be, and we try to work from the office where possible. Of course, there are times when it makes sense for you to work from home and that's OK. As a Deployment Strategist you will also need to travel to visit customers. But in general you should only apply to join Arondite if you're excited to come into the office and work in person by default.
Application process Generally, our interview process is comprised of the following stages:
CV submission with initial questions Introductory Teams call (30-45 mins) In-person technical interview (1-2 hours) Final interview with one of Arondite’s Founders (30 mins) Benefits
