About the job

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Project Manager to oversee electrical construction for ground-up data center projects. This position will represent the client onsite and manage the planning, coordination, installation, testing, and turnover of complex electrical and critical-power systems.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in large-scale electrical construction, mission-critical facilities, or data center environments and can effectively manage subcontractors, schedules, budgets, documentation, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Manage electrical construction activities from preconstruction through commissioning and final closeout. Oversee high-voltage, low-voltage, and critical-power scopes for ground-up data center projects. Coordinate electrical subcontractors, vendors, engineers, commissioning teams, and other construction disciplines. Manage the installation and integration of utility services, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, PDUs, RPPs, busway, grounding systems, and cabinet-level power. Oversee power distribution from major infrastructure through PDUs and cabinet receptacles within the data hall. Coordinate electrical work with cooling systems, controls, structured cabling, overhead supports, and equipment layouts. Review electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, equipment submittals, and scopes of work. Manage project schedules, budgets, procurement, material deliveries, manpower, and installation sequencing. Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, invoicing, forecasting, and P&L tracking. Monitor installation quality and ensure compliance with design requirements, applicable codes, safety standards, and client procedures. Identify constructability issues, schedule conflicts, cost risks, and long-lead equipment concerns. Support energization, testing, commissioning, punch-list completion, turnover, and closeout. Provide clear project updates and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and field personnel. Qualifications

At least five years of electrical construction project management experience. Experience managing large, technically complex electrical or MEP projects. Data center or mission-critical construction experience strongly preferred. Strong understanding of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution systems. Familiarity with switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, PDUs, RPPs, busway, grounding, and cabinet-level power. Experience managing multiple electrical subcontractors and large field teams. Strong knowledge of construction schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, change orders, invoicing, punch lists, and closeout. Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and one-line diagrams. Strong client-facing communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work onsite and travel as project needs require.
