Your SLP Role
Assess and support adults’ functional communication needs within the agreed program scope. Provide individualized speech-language services and communication consultation. Support AAC access and use in everyday routines. Coach staff and caregivers on practical communication strategies that carry over throughout the day. Collaborate with the adult, their support team, and other professionals to develop meaningful, person-centered goals. Use a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach that respects autonomy and individual preferences. Document services and progress and contribute to collaborative care planning. Ideal Candidates
SLPs interested in supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Clinicians with experience or a strong interest in functional communication, AAC, and caregiver coaching. Collaborative professionals who value connection, continuing learning, and a supportive SLP community. Requirements
Requirements
Master’s degree in Communication Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology. Massachusetts SLP licensure appropriate to the position. A commitment to person-centered, neurodiversity-affirming services. Strong collaboration, documentation, and organizational skills. Benefits
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation and benefit eligibility will be confirmed for this position. The existing Chatterboxes posting lists:
Traditional 401(k) with a 50% match. Financial literacy resources and guidance. Health, dental, and vision coverage through a BlueCross BlueShield HMO plan, with Chatterboxes covering 80% of monthly single-person premiums. CEU reimbursement up to $1,200 annually. Annual ASHA dues and state SLP licensure reimbursement. Bonus for new private-client referrals initiated by the clinician. Paid holidays and PTO.
