Industrial Pro Recruiting is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to join an established and growing engineering and design organization in the Charlotte market.
This opportunity is designed for a licensed Professional Engineer with significant land development and site civil experience who can independently manage projects, develop strong client relationships, and lead multidisciplinary teams from initial concept through permitting and construction.
The Project Manager will have responsibility for project execution, technical quality, client communication, schedules, budgets, permitting coordination, and the overall success of assigned projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage civil/site development projects from proposal and initial planning through construction. Oversee preparation of construction plans for commercial, industrial, multifamily, mixed-use, healthcare, and other development projects. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients. Prepare and manage project proposals, scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and deliverables. Coordinate engineers, designers, survey professionals, permitting personnel, consultants, and outside project partners. Direct and review site layout, grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion control, utility, and infrastructure design. Coordinate permitting and plan review activities with municipalities, regulatory agencies, utility providers, and other authorities. Review engineering calculations, plans, reports, specifications, and construction documents for technical quality and regulatory compliance. Research and interpret zoning requirements, development standards, permitting processes, and applicable engineering regulations. Attend client, development, municipal, and public meetings when necessary. Mentor and provide technical direction to junior engineers and design staff. Strengthen existing client relationships and participate in the development of new business opportunities. Serve as Engineer of Record for assigned projects. Travel regionally as required to support clients and projects. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Active North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Minimum 8 years of professional civil engineering experience, including significant site development experience. Minimum 3 years in a project management, assistant project management, or similar project leadership capacity. Demonstrated success managing clients, project teams, schedules, scopes, budgets, and technical deliverables. Strong technical background in site development, grading, drainage, stormwater, erosion control, utilities, and permitting. Thorough understanding of municipal and state development requirements and engineering standards. Experience coordinating projects with municipalities and regulatory agencies in North Carolina; broader Carolinas experience is preferred. Strong leadership, client relationship, and project management capabilities. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and hydrology/hydraulic design applications. THE OPPORTUNITY
