Location: Freeport TX area Contract: Initial 1-year contract Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, with flexibility

We are seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to support major capital projects in a large-scale industrial facility. This role will provide senior-level electrical engineering oversight and QA/QC of EPC engineering deliverables from detailed design through construction, commissioning, and startup.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program 10+ years of direct experience with HV and MV electrical power systems Strong experience with HV cable systems, VFDs, synchronous motors, and protective relays Experience with the application and programming of protective relays Knowledge of ANSI/NEMA requirements, NEC, and NFPA 70E Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and technical communication skills Ability to work effectively with EPC contractors, vendors, operations, and multidisciplinary engineering teams Preferred:

15+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license Experience with SEL equipment Experience with GIS, switchyard equipment, harmonics/harmonic filters, grounding, lightning protection, and essential generators Familiarity with ETAP, IEEE 519, and power system harmonic modeling Key Responsibilities

Review and provide QA/QC of electrical engineering specifications, data sheets, detailed designs, and procurement packages Review power system studies, including short circuit, arc-flash, load flow, and protection studies Review protection schemes, equipment ratings, hazardous-area documentation, and supplier deliverables Provide technical oversight of HV/MV electrical systems, VFDs, motors, switchgear, transformers, generators, and protection systems Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and startup Coordinate electrical engineering activities with EPC contractors, vendors, operations, and other engineering disciplines Ensure electrical design, construction, and testing meet applicable codes, standards, and project requirements Support troubleshooting and technical issue resolution during construction and startup Additional Information

Occasional travel to project, EPC, vendor, and supplier locations may be required. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.

TWIC is not required at submission or initial start. Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a TWIC after starting.
