Research Associate – Single Cell

About the Opportunity

SeqMatic has a Research Associate position open to join our single cell sequencing services team. The position requires a strong background in molecular biology, particularly nucleic acid purification and NGS / Omics workflows. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Sample accessioning using LIMS; Organize and maintain detailed experimental records and follow lab procedures Prepare cells and tissues using manual and automated protocols; Prepare sequencing libraries from single cells and nuclei using workflows from 10x Genomics and Parse Biosciences; Operate other common laboratory equipment such as thermocyclers, qPCR machines, and benchtop centrifuges; Organize and maintain detailed experimental records and follow lab procedures; Communicate in person and electronically with customers and team members

Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or a related science; 2+ years of hands-on experience working with cell and tissue cultures; 2+ years of hands-on experience performing cell and nuclei isolations using manual and automated methods such as from Miltenyi gentleMACS; 2+ years of hands-on experience of single cell library preparation (10x Genomics, Parse Biosciences, Takara SmartSeq, etc.); To support our “Onsite-seq” offering, occasional travel within 50 miles of our Fremont lab will be required; Must be highly detail-oriented and have strong lab and analytical skills; Experience working in clinical lab setting is preferred but not required; Solid English language communication skills; Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines; accommodate a flexible schedule to support the workload; Ability to work independently and with a team; Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.
