About the job

About the team Zillow Experience Design (ZxD) shapes how people discover, buy, sell, and rent homes. Within ZxD, Design Foundations creates and scales the systems, standards, and tools that help teams build high-quality, consistent, and accessible experiences across Zillow.

Design Foundations brings together design systems, digital accessibility, brand and visual language, content standards, and the AI-enabled tools increasingly used by Product, Design, and Engineering teams to design and build products.

Zillow’s design systems, known internally as Constellation, span Web, iOS, Android, and Email. They give teams the shared components, patterns, and guidance they need to build with greater consistency, accessibility, and efficiency.

About the role We’re hiring a Principal Product Manager to shape product strategy for two foundational capabilities that influence how Zillow teams build across every customer experience: design systems and digital accessibility. As the first dedicated Product Manager across these areas, you’ll own product strategy and the integrated roadmap for design systems, and lead the product approach to accessibility systems, tooling, and product health. You’ll build the measurement systems and operating model needed to manage both as products.

Zillow is accelerating AI-native product development and launching its first enterprise accessibility policy. Your work will help determine how designers, engineers, and product teams use shared systems, tooling, and standards to build faster, more accessible, and higher-quality products.

You’ll partner closely with design systems and accessibility leadership, Foundations designers and engineers, program leads, and leaders and teams across Product, Design, and Engineering.

In this role, you will

Lead design systems product strategy and roadmaps

Define and lead the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Zillow’s design systems. Define and mature the data, success metrics, and measurement needed to manage product performance, demonstrate customer and business value, and guide roadmap and investment decisions. Prioritize investments that create leverage across teams, balancing new capabilities, adoption, system quality, support, accessibility, technical investment, and long-term scalability. Stay current on evolving design-system practices, accessibility standards, and AI-enabled development, translating material shifts into roadmap and investment decisions. Understand customers and drive adoption

Build a deep understanding of how designers, engineers, and product managers use our foundational systems to build products, including their workflows, needs, and friction points. Use internal customer discovery, adoption data, and product-health insights to inform roadmap decisions. Identify barriers to adoption and prioritize product, tooling, workflow, and enablement improvements that create the greatest leverage. Lead alignment across Design, Engineering, Product, and senior stakeholders on priorities, trade-offs, dependencies, and the value the systems deliver. Scale accessibility through systems

Define product strategy and priorities for accessibility systems, tooling, and product-health capabilities. Develop the product approach to accessibility health observability, tooling, and integrations that help teams understand and improve the accessibility of Zillow’s digital experiences. Evolve systems for automated accessibility checks (e.g., CI/CD checks), audits, and remediation so product teams can identify and own issues earlier. Use audit findings and other product-health signals to identify systemic issues and determine when problems should be solved centrally through design systems, tooling, or shared development mechanisms. Partner with the Principal Program Manager for Accessibility to translate enterprise priorities and risk into scalable product investments. Evolve systems for AI-native product development

Ensure design systems and accessibility standards evolve for AI-enabled workflows, making them easier for AI tools and agents to consume and apply. Partner across Design Tech, Engineering, and DevEx to shape and prioritize AI-enabled systems and tooling based on evolving technology, customer needs, product outcomes, and broader systems priorities. Evaluate how AI-enabled workflows affect adoption, accessibility, quality, and efficiency, and use those insights to inform future investment.
