Position: Sales Development Representative (UK Market)
Salary: To be determined
Working Hours & Conditions: Observing UK business hours
Holidays: Observing UK holidays
ROLE OVERVIEW:
Drive outbound growth and pipeline creation for a premier UK-based health and safety consultancy specializing in retained compliance partnerships for high-risk mid-market industries. Operating remotely from South Africa during standard UK business hours, this role focuses on engaging senior operational leads, qualifying high-value opportunities, and booking targeted meetings for Business Development Managers. By connecting key decision-makers with vital compliance solutions, you will play a direct role in protecting businesses and supporting sustainable organizational growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute Outbound Prospecting: Work provided account lists, track HSE enforcement/hiring signals, and leverage independent research tools (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator) to identify and engage target UK prospects. Manage Warm & Inbound Leads: Respond rapidly to web, paid search, and marketing enquiries within strict timeframes (calling inbound leads within five minutes during business hours) and follow up persistently via phone and email. Re-Engage & Expand Accounts: Drive cross-selling, up-selling, retainer conversions, and win-back campaigns across assigned database accounts. Qualify & Book Meetings: Conduct high-caliber phone conversations with owner-managers and operations leads to uncover immediate pain points, qualify account criteria (50–500+ staff), and schedule confirmed BDM meetings. Maintain CRM & Pipeline Governance: Record call activity, manage personal pipelines, and keep all opportunity data current within Pipedrive without requiring ongoing oversight. Participate in Coaching & Performance Reviews: Engage in weekly recorded call reviews and continuous coaching sessions to refine pitch delivery and objection handling. Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of dedicated B2B outbound sales development (SDR/BDR/Appointment Setter) with phone-first outreach as the primary sales channel. Proven Track Record: Demonstrated history of achieving meeting-booking targets and maintaining high lead-to-meeting completion rates. UK Market Exposure: Direct experience engaging UK SME decision-makers (owner-managers, operations directors, compliance leads). Pipeline Management & Research: Experience conducting cold/warm outreach, researching prospective accounts, and working alongside senior closers/BDMs. Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal articulation and polished written English skills tailored to senior executive audiences. Working Schedule & Location: Full-time availability operating strictly on UK working hours (08:30 to 17:30 UK Time / 09:30–18:30 SAST summer, 10:30–19:30 SAST winter) from South Africa.
DESIRED (NOT REQUIRED):
Software Competency: Hands-on experience using Pipedrive CRM and LinkedIn Sales Navigator. Sector Familiarity: Prior background selling compliance, HR, insurance, facilities, or professional services into high-risk industries (manufacturing, construction, warehousing, or food production). Self-Direction: Highly organized, self-motivated working style with the ability to manage independent weekly workflows effectively.
