Nurse Practitioner (APP) Location: Kentucky Setting: Correctional Employment Type: Part-Time / PRN (2-4 hours per week)
Position Overview MindCare Solutions is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner (APP) to provide comprehensive medical and behavioral health services within a Kentucky correctional facility. The APP will provide evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients while working collaboratively with nursing staff, physicians, and the multidisciplinary care team.
Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical and psychiatric evaluations as appropriate. Diagnose and develop individualized treatment plans. Provide ongoing management of acute and chronic medical and behavioral health conditions. Prescribe and manage medications within the scope of licensure and facility protocols. Respond to urgent and emergent patient needs. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, behavioral health providers, and other members of the healthcare team. Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and preventative care. Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation. Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and care coordination. Follow all applicable correctional facility policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements. Provide care in a professional, trauma-informed, and patient-centered manner within the correctional environment. Qualifications Current, unrestricted Kentucky Nurse Practitioner/APRN license. National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the applicable specialty. Active DEA registration, if required for the position. Experience in correctional, behavioral health, primary care, emergency, or other high-acuity settings preferred. Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Must successfully complete required background screening, credentialing, and facility clearance requirements.
