About the job
Hoxton Circle is partnering with a private equity backed accounting firm platform to hire a fully remote Senior Accountant into its corporate finance team.
The business invests in and acquires regional CPA firms, giving them the capital, technology and back-office support of a large firm while letting them stay independent. It’s growing quickly through acquisition, and finance sits right at the center of that, because every new partner firm has to be brought into the group’s systems and reporting. It’s a young company with ambitious goals, but with the resources and leadership of a much larger firm.
The Role
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you’ll lead the month-end close for the consolidated corporate and subsidiary financials and help publish monthly GAAP financial statements within 15 days of month-end, including MD&A and variance analysis. You’ll also play a hands-on part in integrating newly acquired firms, with the aim of consolidating their reporting within 30 days of a deal closing.
What you’ll be doing
Running the monthly close across the group, including bank and credit card reconciliations, payroll, accruals, GL and sub-ledger entries, and departmental reporting. Preparing work papers and reconciliations for balance sheet and selected income statement accounts. Integrating acquired firms into group reporting and supporting the purchase accounting process. Overseeing an experienced offshore accounting team, making sure weekly and monthly deliverables are met and suggesting training and process improvements. Supporting the annual audit and quarterly and annual tax filings (local, state and federal), and finding ways to make both run more efficiently. Supporting the implementation and maintenance of ASC 606 and 842 as applicable. Helping build out system-based and automated reporting within the ERP. What you’ll bring
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting. CPA licensed, or actively sitting for the CPA exam. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Big 4 or large regional public accounting experience in assurance or advisory is a plus. Strong GAAP knowledge and confidence preparing full financial statements (income statement, balance sheet and cash flow). Experience with ERP, payables, T&E and banking systems is helpful. Advanced Excel skills. The ability to take ownership, manage your own projects without close supervision, and communicate clearly with people at every level of the business. The package
$120,000 base salary plus a $10,000 bonus, with a competitive benefits package. The role is fully remote with quarterly travel for company-wide meetings. Start date is as soon as practicable.
