Position Overview
StepStone Group is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Business Development Analyst/Senior Analyst to join its UK Wealth Business Development team in London. The role will support the team’s activity across the UK wealth market, while also providing coordination across EMEA for both GFI and Wealth sales initiatives.
The successful candidate will support client and prospect activity, coordinate responses and deliverables across sales, investment, product and other internal teams, and help ensure a consistent, high-quality experience. This is an opportunity to gain broad exposure to the UK wealth market, private markets and EMEA sales activity, with scope to take on greater client and business development responsibility over time.
Essential Job Functions
Support business development and client servicing activity across the UK wealth market, including wealth managers, private banks, financial advisers and other relevant intermediaries. Act as a central coordinator across EMEA for GFI and Wealth sales activity, helping align stakeholders, priorities, deadlines and deliverables. Receive, coordinate and track inbound client and prospect requests, ensuring they reach the appropriate sales, investment, product and internal teams. Follow up with internal teams to obtain timely responses, coordinate inputs and review materials before they are shared externally. Support existing wealth client relationships and new business opportunities, including meeting follow-ups, pipeline activity and coordination of requested materials. Prepare and coordinate materials for client meetings, presentations, reviews and other sales and relationship-management activities. Support RFPs, due diligence requests and written client materials, working with relevant subject-matter experts across the business. Assist with data checking, CRM updates and other sales reporting or information requests, with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency. Conduct market mapping and research across the UK wealth market to support broader business development initiatives. Build familiarity with key wealth clients, prospects and distribution channels, helping create a consistent servicing experience across strategies and asset classes. Take ownership of assigned projects and identify opportunities to improve sales coordination, client servicing and internal processes.
Education / Experience Requirements
Approximately 2-5 years of relevant professional experience; candidates may be considered at Analyst or Senior Analyst level depending on experience. Experience in the UK wealth market is strongly preferred, gained within asset management, private markets, wealth management, private banking, distribution or a related environment. Experience in wealth sales support, business development, client servicing, relationship management, investment support or product specialist support. A good understanding of UK wealth clients and distribution channels, such as wealth managers, private banks, financial advisers or discretionary fund managers. Exposure to private markets, including private equity, private debt, infrastructure or real estate, is preferred but deep specialist expertise is not required. Experience coordinating activity across multiple teams, markets or jurisdictions is beneficial. Bachelor’s degree preferred; the team is flexible on exact educational background. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word; experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM is beneficial.
Desired Skills & Attributes
Excellent organisation and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage several requests, stakeholders and deadlines independently. Strong knowledge of, and interest in, the UK wealth market. High attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, client-ready work. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence liaising across teams and markets. A client-servicing and commercial mindset, with an interest in building long-term wealth relationships. Accountable and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to operate with minimal supervision. Curious, collaborative and comfortable working across EMEA, multiple teams and asset classes. Team-oriented, resourceful and comfortable working in a lean, fast-paced and high-performing environment.
