Role Overview As a Sr. Strategic Account Manager (Director) – Data Foundation, you will be responsible for driving strategic growth and digital transformation initiatives across Salesforce’s Data Foundation portfolio, including MuleSoft and Informatica, within Korea’s largest and most strategic enterprise customers. Data Foundation brings together integration, API management, data management, data quality, governance, and connectivity capabilities to help organizations build a trusted, AI-ready data foundation. In this role, you will help customers connect applications and data, modernize legacy environments, improve data quality and governance, and accelerate their transformation toward AI and the Agentic Enterprise. You will build and maintain trusted relationships with C-level executives, CIOs, CTOs, Chief Data Officers, senior IT and data leaders, and business transformation teams. You will act as a strategic advisor, understanding customers’ business priorities and translating them into long-term Data Foundation strategies leveraging MuleSoft, Informatica, and the broader Salesforce platform. As the primary commercial owner for assigned Strategic Accounts, you will develop and execute account strategies, create and expand pipeline, and drive complex, multi-year opportunities across both existing Salesforce customers and new prospects. You will work closely with Salesforce Core Account Executives, Solution Engineers, Customer Success, Partners, and other cross-functional teams to deliver business outcomes and accelerate growth across strategic accounts. This role is also expected to serve as a future people leader within the Data Foundation organization. The successful candidate will demonstrate the leadership capability, coaching mindset, and organizational influence required to eventually lead and develop a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Account Leadership
Own and grow a portfolio of Strategic and Enterprise accounts across Korea. Develop and execute long-term strategic account plans aligned with customer business priorities and transformation initiatives. Build trusted relationships with C-level executives and senior business, IT, and data decision-makers. Establish and expand executive-level relationships and create strategic transformation roadmaps with customers. Develop strong account intelligence and identify emerging business and technology priorities that can create new opportunities. Data Foundation Sales
Identify and develop opportunities across MuleSoft and Informatica, including integration, API management, data management, data quality, governance, MDM, and AI-ready data initiatives. Drive net-new business, installed-base expansion, cross-sell, and whitespace opportunities across strategic accounts. Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving business, IT, data, architecture, procurement, and executive sponsors. Position the value of Data Foundation and the Salesforce platform in customers’ digital transformation, data modernization, cloud adoption, and AI initiatives. Drive revenue growth through large, complex, multi-product, and multi-year transformation opportunities. Cross-functional Leadership
Orchestrate a broad extended sales team across Salesforce, MuleSoft, Informatica, Solution Engineering, Customer Success, Partners, and other specialists. Collaborate closely with Salesforce Core AEs to build a unified account strategy and maximize customer value. Lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority. Represent Salesforce Data Foundation as a trusted strategic partner to customers and ecosystem partners. People Leadership & Organizational Development
Demonstrate the leadership capability to progress into a people management role within the Data Foundation organization. Coach, mentor, and develop peers and junior sales professionals through deal strategy, account planning, executive engagement, and sales execution. Demonstrate the ability to build high-performing teams, establish clear priorities, and drive accountability. Contribute to hiring, onboarding, talent development, and organizational capability building as the Data Foundation business scales. Act as a role model and thought leader for strategic selling, customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration. Business Management
Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline and accurate sales forecast across assigned strategic accounts. Drive disciplined sales execution, opportunity management, and account planning. Identify and close large, complex, multi-product, and multi-year opportunities. Required Qualifications
15+ years of full-cycle B2B enterprise sales experience, preferably managing Strategic, Prime, or Global Enterprise accounts. Proven track record of successfully selling complex enterprise technology platforms or software solutions. Demonstrated experience managing large, complex accounts with multiple stakeholders and long sales cycles. Strong ability to engage and influence C-level executives, including CIOs, CTOs, CDOs, and senior IT/data leaders. Experience developing and executing strategic account plans and building long-term customer relationships. Strong understanding of enterprise data, integration, API, cloud, data management, or related technologies. Proven ability to identify and close large, complex, multi-product, and multi-year opportunities. Ability to lead and influence a large, cross-functional extended team without direct authority. Demonstrated leadership, coaching, mentoring, or team leadership experience, with the potential and aspiration to transition into a formal people management role. Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technology solutions to business outcomes and transformation initiatives. Fluent in Korean with business-level English proficiency. Product & Competitive Experience
Experience selling MuleSoft, Informatica, Salesforce, or comparable enterprise technology platforms. Experience selling such as Boomi, IBM App Connect, TIBCO, SnapLogic, or comparable integration/API platforms. Experience with integration, API management, data management, data quality, MDM, data governance, data integration, or cloud data platforms. Proven experience in competitive displacement, platform migration, or technology modernization initiatives. Enterprise & Strategic Account Experience
Proven experience selling to large Korean enterprises and conglomerates (Chaebol). Experience managing Strategic, Prime, or Global Enterprise accounts. Demonstrated success developing executive relationships and driving complex enterprise transformation initiatives. Experience driving digital transformation, cloud migration, data modernization, or AI transformation initiatives. Leadership
Prior people management experience is highly preferred, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and talent development. Experience leading sales teams, virtual teams, account teams, or cross-functional organizations. Demonstrated ability to develop talent and build a high-performing sales organization. Strong executive presence and organizational leadership skills. Experience operating effectively in a matrixed, multinational organization. Technology & Ecosystem
Familiarity with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. Experience working with complex partner ecosystems, system integrators, and technology partners. Understanding of emerging technologies and architectures including AI, Agentic AI, APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, and modern data platforms. Experience positioning multiple technology solutions as part of a broader enterprise transformation strategy.
