Level 3 Data Center Technician

Position Summary

The Level 3 Data Center Technician installs and validates network equipment and fiber connections within a data center environment. This role requires strong technical experience and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Mount and secure heavier network equipment Read and follow cutsheets, rack layouts and port maps Install and handle MPO and LC fiber connections correctly Follow fiber bend radius, polarity, labeling and cable management standards Validate network links and check link lights Confirm connections are installed in the correct ports Trace cables and troubleshoot mispatches Correct installation and connectivity issues without constant escalation Maintain accurate documentation and organized cable dressing Qualifications

Previous experience as a Data Center Technician Strong rack and stack and structured cabling experience Experience working with MPO and LC fiber connections Understanding of fiber polarity and bend radius requirements Ability to read cutsheets and port maps independently Strong troubleshooting and cable tracing skills Understanding of how data center network builds are structured
