Responsibilities

Own end-to-end software delivery, from design and development through testing, deployment, and post-go-live support. Ensure adherence to SDLC standards and drive continuous improvement in software quality, development processes, and productivity. Manage development backlogs, estimations, KPIs, and delivery performance using Jira and other relevant tools. Ensure architectural and design alignment across applications in collaboration with IT Architecture, Delivery, and Solution Design teams. Drive cloud-first development, modern API design, CI/CD adoption, and DevOps practices across critical applications. Manage technical debt and ensure alignment with the overall IT strategy and technology roadmap. Embed security-by-design and compliance-by-design across all software development activities. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and security requirements, including DORA, GDPR, the EU AI Act, and Solvency II IT requirements. Support disaster recovery, business continuity, audit readiness, and operational resilience across the application landscape. Plan and prioritize development workloads across BAU and strategic projects, ensuring effective allocation of internal and external resources. Provide delivery estimates, timelines, capacity planning, budget input, and ongoing monitoring of development activities. Report delivery progress, risks, KPIs, and key issues to senior management and relevant governance committees. Ensure comprehensive technical documentation, API catalogues, runbooks, and knowledge-transfer processes are maintained. Build and develop high-performing technical teams through clear objectives, performance management, mentoring, succession planning, and targeted training. Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing while ensuring business continuity and reducing key-person dependencies. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Informatics or a related quantitative field. Master's degree (MSc/MBA) is a strong plus. Minimum 8 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4 years managing development teams (multiple squads / team leaders). Proven track record of leading delivery of large, mission-critical applications, ideally in insurance, banking or financial services. Experience managing both legacy modernization (e.g., Cobol, mainframe-style core systems, large Oracle databases) and modern stacks (.NET, web/mobile, APIs, cloud). Demonstrable experience driving cloud transformation, CI/CD and DevOps adoption. Strong command of.NET / C#, web technologies (Angular/React/React Native), REST APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures. Strong Skills Oracle PL/SQL and familiarity with core insurance systems will be considered a plus. Hands-on understanding of Azure (or equivalent cloud), CI/CD pipelines, Git, containerization and infrastructure-as-code. Ability to inspire and develop senior engineers and team leaders. Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills under multiple competing demands. Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Excellent communication skills, able to engage with executives, business owners, auditors and technical teams. Fluency in Greek and English (written and spoken). Benefits
