Endoscopy Decontamination Technician – Isle of Wight Location: Isle of Wight Start Date: Aiming for October Working Pattern: Saturday and Sunday (Locum) Travel: Likely Friday evening travel to the Isle of Wight Travel and accommodation provided

About the Role We are looking for experienced Endoscopy Decontamination Technicians to support an Endoscopy service on the Isle of Wight.

You will be responsible for the safe cleaning, decontamination, reprocessing and preparation of endoscopes, ensuring all equipment is processed to the required infection prevention and safety standards.

Essential Experience You must have a minimum of 1 year of experience working specifically within Endoscopy Decontamination within the last year in a UK healthcare setting.

This is a mandatory requirement. Candidates without recent Endoscopy Decontamination experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Receive used endoscopes following procedures Carry out manual cleaning and disinfection processes Operate automated endoscope reprocessors (AERs) Inspect endoscopes for damage, defects or residue Track and log endoscope usage to maintain full traceability Ensure endoscopes meet required infection control standards Store endoscopes safely and prepare them for reuse Maintain decontamination equipment and report any faults Ensure compliance with hygiene, infection prevention and safety procedures

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of Endoscopy Decontamination experience within the last year Confident carrying out endoscope cleaning and reprocessing Experience using automated endoscope reprocessors (AERs) Good understanding of infection prevention and decontamination procedures Strong attention to detail Comfortable working as part of a busy Endoscopy service Available to work Saturdays and Sundays Able to travel to the Isle of Wight, with likely travel on Friday evenings
