POSITION SUMMARY:

Draft, proofread, and organize legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, contracts, and other related materials. Maintain legal document management system, ensuring documents are accurate, complete, organized, secure, and accessible. Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review. Manage legal request intake process. Monitor filing deadlines, court dates, matter milestones, and internal follow-up items. Coordinate communications with attorneys, clients, courts, agencies, vendors, and other external parties as directed. Support discovery and assist with the lifecycle of litigation matters.. Protect confidential information and handle sensitive legal and business matters with discretion. Stay informed of relevant changes concerning legal technology and project management tools. Perform other functions, as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

An Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or certificate in paralegal studies, legal studies, business administration, or a related field is required. Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible paralegal experience supporting attorneys in a corporate legal department, law firm, or commercial real estate environment. A strong proficiency with project management workflow software is required. Experience with NetDocuments or a comparable document management system is a plus. Demonstrated ability to support attorneys or legal teams with complex matters and competing deadlines.

Technical Skills:

Working knowledge of legal and real estate terminology, legal document formats, filing procedures, and matter management practices. Demonstrated proficiency with AI-enabled productivity tools, including ChatGPT, Cowork, and Microsoft Copilot, with the ability to incorporate AI into legal research, drafting, document review, workflow optimization, and other functions specific to the legal department. Strong knowledge of document drafting, proofreading, formatting, redlining, version control and document management best practices. Advance proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and OneNote. Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Teams for collaboration, meeting management, file sharing, project coordination, and maintaining matter-specific workspaces. Experience using OneNote to organize legal matters, meeting notes, contract reviews, due diligence materials, litigation files, project trackers, and departmental knowledge resources. Ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize new legal technology, document management, AI, and workflow automation tools to improve efficiency and service delivery within the Legal Department.
