Position Overview

This role sits within the Automation and Computer System division and is responsible for testing DeltaV Batch DCS code developed against approved Functional Requirements (FR) and Design Specifications (DS). The tester develops system-level test cases (SLT TC), executes functional and system-level testing, and supports Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to confirm automation systems meet requirements before commissioning, qualification, and startup.

This role is well suited to a detail-oriented automation professional who can independently translate requirements and specifications into thorough, traceable system-level test cases and who is comfortable working closely with coders and process engineering to resolve discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop system-level test cases and test scripts based on approved Functional Requirements, Design Specifications, and process narratives

• Execute functional and system-level testing of DeltaV Batch DCS configuration to verify compliance with requirements and specifications

• Identify, document, and track defects and discrepancies; work with coders and process cell owners to verify resolution and retest as needed

• Maintain test documentation in accordance with CSV and GMP documentation practices

• Support development and review of test protocols and ensure traceability between requirements and TCs

• Coordinate testing schedules with automation project management, coders, and process engineering to align with project milestones

• Support commissioning and qualification testing activities as needed

• Contribute to continuous improvement of test methodologies and documentation practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience

• 2+ years of experience testing or validating DCS or automation systems, preferably in a pharmaceutical or other regulated environment

• Experience developing system-level test cases from functional requirements and specifications

• Familiarity with DeltaV Batch DCS

• Knowledge of ISA-88 batch standards, GMP, and CSV documentation requirements

• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills

Additional Preferences:

• Direct hands-on experience testing or troubleshooting DeltaV Batch DCS

• Experience executing FAT/SAT for capital projects or facility startups

• Experience with electronic test management systems (e.g., Kneat, ALM)

• Location: Remote – Limited to no travel (<5%)
