The Physical Therapy department at High Point University is currently seeking a Patient Care Coordinator. This position is responsible for directly supporting clinicians, fellow students, faculty, and patients at the Pro Bono and TEAM Clinic. This person may also be asked to assist as needed in other areas of the department. This position requires exceptional organization, people, and communication skills. This position requires someone with the ability to exercise sound judgment, professional etiquette, tact, and patience. The person in this position interacts with a variety of groups of people and must have a pleasant demeanor and a willingness to be flexible. QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

Associate ’ s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience and Training

Experience as an administrative assistant or receptionist preferred

Bilingual ability for Spanish/English required

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

Proficiency using various computer platforms and programs, including MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Excellent time management skills

Strong organization and planning skills with attention to detail

Ability to work effectively with a broad range of people with a social justice perspective

Ability to work independently

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Interest or experience in learning to manag e large data

Interest or experience in case management

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Work directly with clinicians, fellows, students, faculty, patients, and referring providers at the Pro Bono and TEAM Clinic

Schedule and reschedule patients (primarily English and Spanish-speaking patients)

Triage patients, manage a patient wait list, and maintain frequent communication with referring providers

Collect and assemble clinic statistics

Assist in scheduling of clinic spaces including clinical, research, and the community garden

Gather and provide information as requested (Department Chair, Dean, Office of Academic Affairs)

File and organize patient charts; organize, update and maintain all front office documentation

Help m aintain printers/copiers / fax to ensure working order

Place work orders for clinic maintenance and supplies

Ensure Food Pantry is neat and clean; plan and promote food drives to restock pantry

Ensure clinic areas are clean and neat each evening

Ensure the clinic has needed supplies (linen, markers, hand sanitizer, theraband, etc.)

Work with patients to connect them with other community resources and services

Hire, supervise, and support undergraduate student workers (Pro Bono Clinic Aides) and Graduate Assistants

Other job duties as needed

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Reports directly to the Director of the Pro Bono Clinic
