Principal Technical Program Manager, Industry Software

About the job
About the team The Industry Software organization builds the B2B SaaS platforms that power Zillow's software and services for real estate professionals, including: - Home listing, lead delivery, and home shopper lifecycle workflows - Identity and access: account hierarchies, user identity, team roster/permissions management - Enterprise integrations: broker rosters, listing feeds, partner data pipelines - Monetization: purchasing, pricing, billing, entitlements, and internal tooling for sales, support, and operations
We work in tight partnership with Product, Engineering, Design, Data, Marketing, Sales, Customer Support, and Finance to build an integrated, reliable, and scalable B2B ecosystem for our industry customers - and we aim to do it smart, humble, hardworking, and highly collaborative.
About the role We're seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to own some of the most complex, strategically important initiatives in Industry Software - multi-team, cross-organizational programs that span multiple product areas, from strategy and scope through execution, launch, and post-launch learning. You'll act as a thought partner to senior and executive leaders, bridge Product, Engineering, and Design to create clarity from ambiguity, and build deep expertise across our domains (monetization, identity and access, enterprise integrations, real estate SaaS and lead delivery) while operating as a strong generalist who ramps up quickly elsewhere.
You'll operate at both strategic and tactical levels: energized by building structure where little exists, balancing technical depth with strong stakeholder management, and setting direction while rolling up your sleeves to get high-quality work done on time.
What You'll Do
Strategy and planning: Define cross-org initiatives that align with Industry Software and broader Zillow B2B priorities; translate strategy into program charters, success metrics, and multi-release execution plans; shape scope and sequencing with Product, Engineering, and Design leaders. Execution and delivery: Own the program lifecycle end to end - planning, dependency mapping, execution, launch, and post-launch follow-through - and drive the operating rhythms (status reviews, dependency checkpoints, release readiness) that keep teams delivering reliably, without subsuming team-level agile ceremonies owned by EMs and PMs. Risk and metrics: Identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks early; drive mitigation and tradeoff decisions with leadership; use data to measure program health and guide iterative improvement. Stakeholder communication: Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Product, Design, Data, Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, Finance, Legal, and Operations; communicate status, risks, and decisions in a crisp, executive-ready narrative up to VP/SVP level. Technical leadership: Build working knowledge of the systems, APIs, and data flows within your program scope; partner with Principal Engineers and architects to shape technical approach; ramp up quickly across domains like monetization, identity and access, enterprise integrations, and real estate SaaS/lead delivery. TPM craft: Define and refine planning, risk, and reporting best practices for Industry Software; mentor other TPMs as a force multiplier for program management excellence; use AI-native tools to increase program efficiency and decision speed.

Significant experience with B2B SaaS products or platforms, ideally serving business customers with complex account, identity, integration, or monetization needs. Proven track record owning end-to-end delivery of complex, distributed systems or platforms, with strong technical fluency in modern architectures (microservices, event-driven patterns, data pipelines) and the ability to engage deeply with engineering teams. Demonstrated ability to build program structure from the ground up: operating rhythms, governance, and metrics for complex initiatives. Exceptional written and verbal communication, including executive-ready narratives, and proven ability to influence without authority across Product, Engineering, Design, and other partners up to senior and executive leadership. Comfortable applying data-driven prioritization to trade off scope, quality, cost, and schedule across multiple simultaneous programs in a fast-moving environment. Preferred Qualifications
