Overview: The Wilmington Trust Institutional Services (IS) division is experiencing rapid business growth and has initiated a strategic digital transformation program. The goals of the program are to grow revenue through new and transformed digital-first trust and agency service products, to move from a product-centric to client-centric operating model, to move from market-specific to global solutions, and to dramatically lower the cost to serve.

In alignment with our business strategy, we are seeking a Digital Business Analyst to support the evolution of our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) deal administration capabilities, with responsibility for supporting the associated IS suite of tools. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape IS’s M&A capabilities and contribute to one of the largest and fastest growing business segments in the division. They will support product vision and roadmap execution, maintain backlog hygiene, document requirements, and measure enhancement outcomes across both client and employee-facing solutions.

Primary Responsibilities: Support Digital Product Development

Collaborate with senior product owners and cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into digital workflows, business and data requirements. Assist in documenting current and future-state business processes using visual tools and process modeling techniques. Utilize process documentation to define data requirements, business logic, and traceability of lineage to system of record. Translate business needs, operational pain points and product priorities into clear features, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, data requirements and decision logic. Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, feature decomposition, and delivery readiness by ensuring requirements are appropriately sized, sequenced, traceable, and testable. Define business acceptance criteria, test scenarios, test data needs, expected results, and evidence requirements to support functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing. Partner with quality engineering, technology, operations, and business users to validate that delivered solutions meet approved requirements. Triage production issues and reporting requests to support business users and underlying M&A applications. Client-Centric Mindset

Identify risk, control, compliance, and operational considerations during discovery and requirements definition Partner with product, operations, risk, and compliance stakeholders to ensure requirements support appropriate controls Support delivery of solutions that balance client experience, business value, operational efficiency, and risk management Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct management responsibility. As an individual contributor, the jobholder must manage activities through matrixed influence, working with essential business partners across the organization, often at a more senior level and irrespective of hierarchy or division, to advocate for client, business, and operational outcomes.

Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years related business line experience,

OR in lieu of,

A combined minimum of 8 years higher education and/or work experience

Working knowledge of financial services, banking, corporate trust, and mergers and acquisitions.

Demonstrated ability to document business requirements, functional requirements, reporting specifications, data requirements, business rules, process flows, acceptance criteria, and testable outcomes.

Agile delivery experience, including backlog refinement, feature/story decomposition, acceptance criteria definition, sprint planning support, and backlog management in Jira or similar tools.

Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across business, operations, technology, risk, compliance, and reporting stakeholders.

Knowledge of Design Thinking principles and experience applying user-centered discovery and solution validation in digital product design and development.

Education and Experience Preferred: Business analysis experience with mergers and acquisitions, client facing user applications, document management, and payment processing.

Business analysis experience defining efficient workflows and data requirements.

Agile, product, or business analysis certifications such as CSPO, SAFe POPM, CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or similar.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $82,100.00 - $136,900.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
